Five years ago, our family welcomed Sopheap and Sogna into our lives and family. Literally street girls, without education or the protection of a family, they have been transformed into worship leaders within our little community of believers at Hope Foundation, and also conduct, often on recitals, at the music school they attend. It’s truly remarkable how Jesus has worked through them. Looking back, I remember being in a terrible ministry dilemma when we first welcomed them. I wasn’t very fond of Cambodia – the heat and humidity were almost unbearable for me. Yet, looking back, I’m filled with gratitude to Jesus for not letting me give up on Cambodia. Jesus transformative power has truly shone through the lives of these two girls, and there is no better reward than that, to our hard work and commitment to rescue at risk children in Cambodia.
Their journey from the streets of Siem Reap to a leadership role at Hope Foundation, exemplifies the profound impact faith can have in shaping lives. Despite initial challenges and some personal discomfort, witnessing their growth and transformation has been a testament to the power of resilience and the grace of God. As we continue to walk alongside Sopheap and Sogna in our community, let us be reminded of the incredible transforming power of Christ to change lives, when the call to love and serve others is answered.
Jesus entrusted us with two more daughters, bringing hope and healing to their lives.
